Bluetens: Medical technique for the smartphone

Bluetens is a medical device, which works with the technology of electro-muscle-stimulation (EMS). You get access to several individual treatments, which have been developed by medical specialists for improving your daily well-being: Specific sequences of soft electrical impulses stimulate in particular and have a pain-relieving, relaxing or strengthening effect on 15 body zones as required - divivded in upper body, via the trunk down to the zones of the lower body.
All in all, the Bluetens TENS-/ muscle stimulator (with App control) offers you 150 programmes, where tapping, kneading, rubbing, pressure, and contraction come into effect. The selection of the well-thought out programmes is done via an App control with the smartphone (from iOS 7; from Android 4.3). Being the most current communication technoloy with low energy consumption, Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE) is used.

The 25 g light, compact Bluetens device measures 6 cm x 4 cm and is smaller than a credit card. It is equipped with a button and a single control knob for regulating the intensity - any further use is comfortably done with the smartphone.

The easy use is done in three steps:

1.) After determining the body zone (i.e., lower back), you chose the desired effect from the zones "physiotherapy", "relaxation", and "fitness".
2.) Then you are informed about the selected programme and you get some tips for setting the intensity and the frequency of use.
3.) Then the Bluetooth-App shows you, where to attach the electrode pads. Finally you confirm with "Go" and it starts.

Besides reusable electrodes (four small + two big pads) including cable set, the delivery also includes a Bluetens bag, in which you can safely store the Bluetens TENS-/ muscle stimulator (with App control) and take it everywhere.
